بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ ﴿۱﴾
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.Surah 86 · Meccan
Al-Tariq
The Night-Visitant
الطارق
18 verses · Maulawi Sher Ali translation
وَالسَّمَآءِ وَالطَّارِقِ ۙ﴿۲﴾
By the heaven and the Morning Star —وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮکَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ۙ﴿۳﴾
And what should make thee know what the Morning Star is?النَّجۡمُ الثَّاقِبُ ۙ﴿۴﴾
It is the star of piercing brightness —اِنۡ کُلُّ نَفۡسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَیۡہَا حَافِظٌ ؕ﴿۵﴾
There is no soul but has a guardian over it.فَلۡیَنۡظُرِ الۡاِنۡسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ؕ﴿۶﴾
So let man consider from what he is created.خُلِقَ مِنۡ مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ ۙ﴿۷﴾
He is created from a gushing fluid,یَّخۡرُجُ مِنۡۢ بَیۡنِ الصُّلۡبِ وَالتَّرَآئِبِ ؕ﴿۸﴾
Which issues forth from between the loins and the breast-bones.اِنَّہٗ عَلٰی رَجۡعِہٖ لَقَادِرٌ ؕ﴿۹﴾
Surely, He has the power to bring him back to lifeیَوۡمَ تُبۡلَی السَّرَآئِرُ ۙ﴿۱۰﴾
On the day when secrets shall be disclosed.فَمَا لَہٗ مِنۡ قُوَّۃٍ وَّلَا نَاصِرٍ ﴿ؕ۱۱﴾
Then he will have no strength and no helper.86:12

وَالسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الرَّجۡعِ ﴿ۙ۱۲﴾
[✲]By the cloud which gives rain after rain,وَالۡاَرۡضِ ذَاتِ الصَّدۡعِ ﴿ۙ۱۳﴾
And by the earth which opens out with herbage,اِنَّہٗ لَقَوۡلٌ فَصۡلٌ ﴿ۙ۱۴﴾
It is surely a decisive word,وَّمَا ہُوَ بِالۡہَزۡلِ ﴿ؕ۱۵﴾
And it is not a useless talk.86:16

اِنَّہُمۡ یَکِیۡدُوۡنَ کَیۡدًا ﴿ۙ۱۶﴾
[✲]Surely they plan a plan,86:17

وَّاَکِیۡدُ کَیۡدًا ﴿ۚۖ۱۷﴾
[✲]And I also plan a plan.فَمَہِّلِ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ اَمۡہِلۡہُمۡ رُوَیۡدًا ﴿٪۱۸﴾
So give time to the disbelievers. Aye, give them time for a little while.Al-Tariq — The Night-Visitant
