بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.

Supplications
Duas
Essential supplications from the Holy Quran and Hadith for daily life, Salat, seeking protection, and spiritual guidance.
Before eating
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَةِ اللّٰهِ
In the name of Allah and with the blessings of Allah.
Abu Dawud
After eating
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ
All praise belongs to Allah Who gave us food and drink and made us Muslims.
Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi
Entering the home
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللّٰهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
In the name of Allah we enter, in the name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we place our trust.
Abu Dawud
Before sleeping
بِاسْمِكَ اللّٰهُمَّ أَمُوْتُ وَأَحْيَا
In Thy name, O Allah, I die and I live.
Bukhari
Upon waking up
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُوْرُ
All praise belongs to Allah Who gave us life after He had caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
Bukhari
Opening supplication in Salat
سُبْحَانَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ وَلَا إِلٰهَ غَيْرُكَ
Holy art Thou, O Allah, and all praise is Thine. Blessed is Thy name and exalted is Thy majesty, and there is none worthy of worship besides Thee.
Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi
In Ruku (bowing)
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْعَظِيْمِ
Holy is my Lord, the Most Great.
Muslim
In Sajdah (prostration)
سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيَ الْأَعْلَى
Holy is my Lord, the Most High.
Muslim
At-Tahiyyat (Tashahhud)
اَلتَّحِيَّاتُ لِلّٰهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللّٰهِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَّا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ
All verbal worship is for Allah, and all physical worship and all financial worship. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.

Durood (Salat on the Prophet)
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيْمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيْدٌ مَجِيْدٌ
O Allah, bless Muhammad and the people of Muhammad, as Thou didst bless Abraham and the people of Abraham. Thou art indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious. O Allah, prosper Muhammad and the people of Muhammad, as Thou didst prosper Abraham and the people of Abraham. Thou art indeed the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.

Surah Al-Fatihah
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُ اِهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيْمَ صِرَاطَ الَّذِيْنَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۙ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّالِّيْنَ
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds, the Gracious, the Merciful, Master of the Day of Judgement. Thee alone do we worship and Thee alone do we implore for help. Guide us in the right path, the path of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy blessings, those who have not incurred Thy displeasure, and those who have not gone astray.
Holy Quran 1:2-7
Prayer for good in this world and the next
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Our Lord, grant us good in this world as well as good in the world to come, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.
Holy Quran 2:202
Prayer for knowledge
رَبِّ زِدْنِيْ عِلْمًا
O my Lord, increase me in knowledge.
Holy Quran 20:115
Prayer for steadfastness
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوْبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَّدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Our Lord, let not our hearts become perverse after Thou hast guided us; and bestow on us mercy from Thyself; surely, Thou alone art the Bestower.
Holy Quran 3:9
Prayer for righteous offspring
رَبِّ هَبْ لِيْ مِنَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ
My Lord, grant me a righteous son.
Holy Quran 37:101
Prayer for acceptance
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيْعُ الْعَلِيْمُ
Our Lord, accept this from us; for Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
Holy Quran 2:128
Seeking refuge from evil
أَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ
I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed.
Holy Quran 16:99
Ayat-ul-Kursi (Verse of the Throne)
اَللّٰهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ ۚ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌ ۘ لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ ۚ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ ۖ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ ۖ وَلَا يَئُوْدُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيْمُ
Allah — there is no God but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and All-Sustaining. Slumber seizes Him not, nor sleep. To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that will intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them; and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He pleases. His throne extends over the heavens and the earth; and the care of them burdens Him not; and He is the High, the Great.
Holy Quran 2:256
Prayer in need
رَبِّ إِنِّيْ لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيْرٌ
My Lord, I am in need of whatever good Thou mayest send down to me.
Holy Quran 28:25
Sufficiency of Allah
حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is an excellent Guardian.
Holy Quran 3:174
Praise and gratitude
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
Holy Quran 1:2
Gratitude for blessings
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِيْ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِيْ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ
My Lord, grant me that I may be grateful for Thy favour which Thou hast bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may do such good works as may please Thee.
Holy Quran 27:20
