بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ ﴿۱﴾
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.Surah 77 · Meccan

Those Sent Forth

77:2

وَالۡمُرۡسَلٰتِ عُرۡفًا ۙ﴿۲﴾
[✲]By the angels who are sent forth with goodness,77:3

فَالۡعٰصِفٰتِ عَصۡفًا ۙ﴿۳﴾
[✲]And then they push on with a forceful pushing,77:4

وَّالنّٰشِرٰتِ نَشۡرًا ۙ﴿۴﴾
[✲]And by the forces that spread the truth, a good spreading,77:5

فَالۡفٰرِقٰتِ فَرۡقًا ۙ﴿۵﴾
[✲]And then they distinguish fully between good and evil.77:6

فَالۡمُلۡقِیٰتِ ذِکۡرًا ۙ﴿۶﴾
[✲]Then they carry the exhortation far and wide77:7

عُذۡرًا اَوۡ نُذۡرًا ۙ﴿۷﴾
[✲]To excuse some and warn others.اِنَّمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لَوَاقِعٌ ؕ﴿۸﴾
Verily, that which you are promised must come to pass.فَاِذَا النُّجُوۡمُ طُمِسَتۡ ۙ﴿۹﴾
So when the stars are made to lose their light,وَاِذَا السَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتۡ ۙ﴿۱۰﴾
And when the heaven is rent asunder,وَاِذَا الۡجِبَالُ نُسِفَتۡ ﴿ۙ۱۱﴾
And when the mountains are blown away,وَاِذَا الرُّسُلُ اُقِّتَتۡ ﴿ؕ۱۲﴾
And when the Messengers are made to appear at the appointed time —لِاَیِّ یَوۡمٍ اُجِّلَتۡ ﴿ؕ۱۳﴾
For what day has the time of these happenings been appointed?لِیَوۡمِ الۡفَصۡلِ ﴿ۚ۱۴﴾
For the Day of Decision.وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮکَ مَا یَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِ ﴿ؕ۱۵﴾
And what should make thee know what the Day of Decision is! —وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۱۶﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!اَلَمۡ نُہۡلِکِ الۡاَوَّلِیۡنَ ﴿ؕ۱۷﴾
Did We not destroy the earlier peoples?ثُمَّ نُتۡبِعُہُمُ الۡاٰخِرِیۡنَ ﴿۱۸﴾
We will now cause the later ones to follow them.کَذٰلِکَ نَفۡعَلُ بِالۡمُجۡرِمِیۡنَ ﴿۱۹﴾
Thus do We deal with the guilty.وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۲۰﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!اَلَمۡ نَخۡلُقۡکُّمۡ مِّنۡ مَّآءٍ مَّہِیۡنٍ ﴿ۙ۲۱﴾
Did We not create you from an insignificant fluid,فَجَعَلۡنٰہُ فِیۡ قَرَارٍ مَّکِیۡنٍ ﴿ۙ۲۲﴾
And We placed it in a safe place,اِلٰی قَدَرٍ مَّعۡلُوۡمٍ ﴿ۙ۲۳﴾
For a known measure of time?فَقَدَرۡنَا ٭ۖ فَنِعۡمَ الۡقٰدِرُوۡنَ ﴿۲۴﴾
Thus did We measure, and how excellently do We measure!وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۲۵﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلِ الۡاَرۡضَ کِفَاتًا ﴿ۙ۲۶﴾
Have We not made the earth so as to holdاَحۡیَآءً وَّاَمۡوَاتًا ﴿ۙ۲۷﴾
The living and the dead?وَّجَعَلۡنَا فِیۡہَا رَوَاسِیَ شٰمِخٰتٍ وَّاَسۡقَیۡنٰکُمۡ مَّآءً فُرَاتًا ﴿ؕ۲۸﴾
And We placed thereon high mountains, and gave you sweet water to drink.وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۲۹﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!اِنۡطَلِقُوۡۤا اِلٰی مَا کُنۡتُمۡ بِہٖ تُکَذِّبُوۡنَ ﴿ۚ۳۰﴾
‘Now move on towards that which you treated as a lie,اِنۡطَلِقُوۡۤا اِلٰی ظِلٍّ ذِیۡ ثَلٰثِ شُعَبٍ ﴿ۙ۳۱﴾
‘Aye, move on towards a shadow which has three sections,لَّا ظَلِیۡلٍ وَّلَا یُغۡنِیۡ مِنَ اللَّہَبِ ﴿ؕ۳۲﴾
‘Neither affording shade, nor protecting from the flame.’77:33

اِنَّہَا تَرۡمِیۡ بِشَرَرٍ کَالۡقَصۡرِ ﴿ۚ۳۳﴾
[✲]It throws up sparks like huge castles,77:34

کَاَنَّہٗ جِمٰلَتٌ صُفۡرٌ ﴿ؕ۳۴﴾
[✲]As if they were camels of dim colour.وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۳۵﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!ہٰذَا یَوۡمُ لَا یَنۡطِقُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۳۶﴾
This is a day when they shall not be able to speak;وَلَا یُؤۡذَنُ لَہُمۡ فَیَعۡتَذِرُوۡنَ ﴿۳۷﴾
Nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses.وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۳۸﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!ہٰذَا یَوۡمُ الۡفَصۡلِ ۚ جَمَعۡنٰکُمۡ وَالۡاَوَّلِیۡنَ ﴿۳۹﴾
‘This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier peoples together.فَاِنۡ کَانَ لَکُمۡ کَیۡدٌ فَکِیۡدُوۡنِ ﴿۴۰﴾
‘If now you have any stratagem, use it against Me.’وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿٪۴۱﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ فِیۡ ظِلٰلٍ وَّعُیُوۡنٍ ﴿ۙ۴۲﴾
The righteous will be in the midst of shades and springs,وَّفَوَاکِہَ مِمَّا یَشۡتَہُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۴۳﴾
And fruits, such as they will desire.کُلُوۡا وَاشۡرَبُوۡا ہَنِیۡٓــًٔۢا بِمَا کُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۴۴﴾
‘Eat and drink pleasantly as a reward for what you did.’اِنَّا کَذٰلِکَ نَجۡزِی الۡمُحۡسِنِیۡنَ ﴿۴۵﴾
Thus surely do We reward those who do good.وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۴۶﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!کُلُوۡا وَتَمَتَّعُوۡا قَلِیۡلًا اِنَّکُمۡ مُّجۡرِمُوۡنَ ﴿۴۷﴾
‘Eat and enjoy yourselves a little while in this world, O rejectors of truth; surely you are the guilty ones.’وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۴۸﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!وَاِذَا قِیۡلَ لَہُمُ ارۡکَعُوۡا لَا یَرۡکَعُوۡنَ ﴿۴۹﴾
And when it is said unto them, ‘Bow down,’ they do not bow down.وَیۡلٌ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ لِّلۡمُکَذِّبِیۡنَ ﴿۵۰﴾
Woe on that day unto those who reject the truth!فَبِاَیِّ حَدِیۡثٍۭ بَعۡدَہٗ یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ ﴿٪۵۱﴾
In which word then, after this, will they believe?Al-Mursalat — Those Sent Forth
