بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ ﴿۱﴾
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful.Surah 100 · Meccan
Al-‘Adiyat
The Chargers

12 verses · Maulawi Sher Ali translation
وَالۡعٰدِیٰتِ ضَبۡحًا ۙ﴿۲﴾
By the snorting chargers of the warriors,فَالۡمُوۡرِیٰتِ قَدۡحًا ۙ﴿۳﴾
Striking sparks of fire,فَالۡمُغِیۡرٰتِ صُبۡحًا ۙ﴿۴﴾
And making raids at dawn,فَاَثَرۡنَ بِہٖ نَقۡعًا ۙ﴿۵﴾
And raising clouds of dust thereby,100:6

فَوَسَطۡنَ بِہٖ جَمۡعًا ۙ﴿۶﴾
[✲]And penetrating thereby into the centre of the enemy forces,اِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ لِرَبِّہٖ لَکَنُوۡدٌ ۚ﴿۷﴾
Surely, man is ungrateful to his Lord;وَاِنَّہٗ عَلٰی ذٰلِکَ لَشَہِیۡدٌ ۚ﴿۸﴾
And surely, he is a witness unto that;وَاِنَّہٗ لِحُبِّ الۡخَیۡرِ لَشَدِیۡدٌ ؕ﴿۹﴾
And surely, he is very keen for the love of wealth.اَفَلَا یَعۡلَمُ اِذَا بُعۡثِرَ مَا فِی الۡقُبُوۡرِ ۙ﴿۱۰﴾
Does not such a one know that when those in the graves are raised,وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِی الصُّدُوۡرِ ﴿ۙ۱۱﴾
And that which is in the breasts is brought forth,اِنَّ رَبَّہُمۡ بِہِمۡ یَوۡمَئِذٍ لَّخَبِیۡرٌ ﴿٪۱۲﴾
Surely their Lord will, on that day, be fully Aware of them.Al-‘Adiyat — The Chargers
